Residential Care Home Sint-Pieter offers delicious breakfasts every day with ERU Portion Packs

Raf Peeters is kitchen coordinator at Residential Care Home Sint-Pieter in the centre of Puurs. The residential care centre accommodates over 95 elderly residents. The organisation also has a second location several kilometres away in Sint-Amands, which is home to another 50 elderly residents.

“Early in the morning, all the breakfasts are prepared in the Residential Care Home. There is a card for each resident with their wishes on it. Once the breakfasts are ready, we check this card so that we know exactly what the residents want to eat. ERU Portion Packs are very convenient when preparing the trays, and hygienic too. Hygiene is hugely important in a residential centre for the elderly,” says Mr Peeters.

Mr Peeters continues: “The breakfasts are taken to the residents’ rooms. A refurbishment is planned soon, which will mean a change to the breakfast service. Residents will then be able to choose from the serving trolley what they feel like that morning, rather than telling us in advance.”

“Besides ERU Portion Packs, we also use ERU’s 1-kilogram buckets. We use these to make large quantities of sandwiches for residents who are unable or prefer not to do it themselves. The bulk packaging is also used in other dishes. We like to respond to everyone’s wishes and needs and ERU cheeses help us provide the variety we want to offer our residents,” says Peeters.
